a-tune software AG provides innovative data management solutions for research and development Institutes. Today, the company announces that the Institut Gustave Roussy (IGR), in Paris area, has chosen the a-tune tick@lab software platform for the management of its lab animal facility.
tick@lab provides the Institute with a central platform for the control of all animal related processes and documentation. The system is accessible by employees in charge of the animals as well as by researchers who can use it to monitor their breeding lines, and to post and track service requests. Thanks to its flexible architecture and the consistent use of web technology, tick@lab can easily be adapted to meet specific requirements. The software can be used on any terminal device (PC, notebook, iPad or tablet computer) with a web browser.
“In the past, we spent a lot of time to count manually the number of cages used by each research unit. With tick@lab, the costs of our animal-related services are automatically compiled. We will thus be able to provide our clients with detailed and reliable statements in the most efficient manner” explains Patrick Gonin, in charge of the preclinical evaluation at IGR, veterinarian, coordinator of the Paris-Sud Network and president of its ethical committee. Another benefit will be the creation of reports and statistics to comply with the new EU directive. “I am sure that the system will be welcomed by all, as it is extremely flexible and easy to operate”.
This decision to opt for tick@lab is part of a quality approach of the animal facilities of the Paris-Sud network to use a common application in order to facilitate the exchange of information and the communication between all personnel involved – scientists, the team in charge of the animal care and administrative personnel. “With tick@lab, IGR and other Paris-Sud network members will not only get a perfect traceability of sensitive data, but will also be able to recover safely and efficiently all the information collected within tick@lab.”
Andreas Staubi, CEO of a-tune software AG is equally pleased with the project: „We are delighted to welcome the Institut Gustave Roussy among the tick@lab users and are looking forward to start a new collaboration with one of the most renowned research center in France and its affiliates of the Paris-Sud Network. The growing number of new academic and private customers in the past few weeks confirms that tick@lab has the capability to adapt to any type of sector and every kind of requirements in France, in Europe and in the world.
