a-tune software AG provides innovative data management solutions for research organizations. Today, the company announced that University of Liverpool has selected tick@lab as its management software system for use within the Biomedical Services Unit. tick@lab will be used by the University of Liverpool to capture all the record keeping requirements associated with all aspects of in vivo research. tick@lab will offer the University the capability to interface with other computer software programmes currently used by the University offering a fully integrated solution.
To date the University has been keeping paper records and recognised that with their steady growth and the introduction of the revision to ASPA (1986), which incorporates the transposition of the European Directive 2010/63/EU, they were going to have to find a more streamlined solution.
With the introduction of tick@lab the University will have the confidence that they can satisfy all of their regulatory and internal reporting needs. They can offer enhanced security through the management of data and user accounts and have the confidence that Tick@lab will take care of Home office recording, training and competency management, colony management, financial management and task requests.
“With the introduction of the new EU directive 2010/63 EU we knew we had to make some changes in the way we currently record our data. In the past, we had mostly paper records and found it very time consuming making internal checks between data to ensure that we were remaining compliant at all times. In order to effectively report on our data from an Establishment level we have to commit a considerable amount of staff time and resources. With the introduction of tick@lab all records will be standardised for effective reporting and auditing. In addition, competencies can be effortlessly recorded and Home Office returns can be generated at the push of a button. In addition to meeting our regulatory requirements we have peace of mind that our cost recovery process will be streamlined and efficient.” Lynn McLaughlin, BSU Manager.
Andreas Staubi, CEO of a-tune software AG is equally pleased with the project: “We are delighted to welcome the University of Liverpool to the tick@lab family of users. We have spent a lot of time investing in the development of our Home Office and training modules, and to see the recognition this is receiving through the growth in our UK portfolio makes it a great achievement.”
